HISTORY OF THE BEER BIKE

A beer bike is a multi-passenger, human powered vehicle invented in 1997 in the Netherlands. Sometimes they are mistaken for a larger-scale version of a pedi cab, but since the bike is powered by the passengers, while the steering and braking is controlled by a driver who does not provide any pedal power, they are unique.

Beer bikes have been in use for decades in many countries worldwide such as Czech Republic, Latvia, Spain and Canada to name a few. They have grown into several families of vehicles for a variety of purposes, including tourist rentals and private touring.
